Job Title: Methods Agent – Aerospace

Location: Calgary, AB (Full-time, Onsite)

Position Summary:


The Methods Agent plays a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing documentation, and driving engineering changes to ensure efficient and high-quality aircraft production. With a hands-on approach, this role involves collaborating with Production, Quality, and Procurement teams to address technical challenges, implement process improvements, and maintain compliance with aerospace quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Documentation & Standards:


  • Define and release validated Work Instructions (WI) and Engineering Masters (EM) to guide manufacturing processes for structural and electrical installations.
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation aligns with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Utilize expertise in CATIA V5 and SAP ERP systems to maintain accurate documentation workflows.

Engineering Changes:

  • Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Notices (ECNs) while assessing cost and process impacts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Logistics, and Production, to ensure timely implementation of engineering modifications.
  • Scrub engineering drawings and technical data to ensure compliance with specifications and manufacturing requirements.

Process Improvement:

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping, to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Apply expertise in root cause analysis and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) to resolve production challenges and prevent recurrence.
  • Develop Crew Load Charts (CLC) and support production schedule planning.

Project Coordination:


  • Lead cross-functional projects from charter to final implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Track project status, resolve deviations, and drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support operational goals.

Training & Support:

  • Develop technical training materials and deliver sessions to ensure alignment with operational and quality standards.
  • Act as a resource for troubleshooting manufacturing and assembly challenges.


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, process planning, and engineering methods.
  • Proven experience with major aerospace programs, including hands-on support in structural assembly and pre-flight activities.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in CATIA V5, Siemens NX10, AutoCAD, and SAP (Production Planning and MES modules).
  • Strong experience in interpreting engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing routers.

Process Improvement & Quality Systems:

  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Skilled in Continuous Improvement methodologies and Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Analytical & Communication Skills:


  • Adept in root cause analysis, data analysis, and problem-solving using statistical tools like Minitab.
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
