Role Description Baytex has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Emissions Engineering Lead. Reporting to the Director, Sustainability & Business Intelligence, the Emissions Engineering Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing emission reduction projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and developing strategies to achieve corporate emissions targets. They will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement innovative solutions and practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The Emissions Engineering Lead will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute emission reduction plans. Responsibilities Coordinate and compile annual GHG emissions reduction capital budget Conduct economic evaluations of emissions reduction projects Manage monthly capital project review and forecasting Advise internal stakeholders regarding emissions targets, profiles, and impacts from operational decisions Provide oversight and support for corporate measurement and fuel, flare, and vent reporting Coordinate carbon offset projects and manage accumulated carbon credits Evaluate and apply for government grant funding Assist and advise with corporate emissions reporting and verification Evaluate emissions monitoring and reduction technologies including field trials Coordinate timely responses to emissions-related regulatory workflows and non-compliances Liaise with regulators regarding emissions policy, regulations, and directives Participate in relevant industry, technology, and regulatory working groups and committees Qualifications Diploma, bachelor’s degree, or higher in engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field 10 years in oil and gas operations and facilities with technical knowledge of oilfield equipment Facilities or production engineering experience would be an asset Strong knowledge of provincial venting and flaring regulatory directives and industry best practices; experience with both Alberta and Saskatchewan regulations would be valuable Proven experience in emissions management and reduction strategies Experience or understanding of emissions monitoring and reporting Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project-management skills Strong communication and leadership abilities Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with external stakeholders If you are qualified and interested, please submit your resume by Friday, May 3, 2024 , indicating the title and job code LL08-2 to resumesbaytexenergy.com.
