In this role you will assist with the management of our internal Quality Assurance programs, including supplier management, product specifications, and recall processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for approving new suppliers, co-manufacturers, and co-packers, ensuring all documentation meets compliance standards across Canadian and U.S. regulations. This role involves maintaining CFIA licenses, managing preventative control plans, handling complaints, resolving non-conformances, and providing quarterly data reports.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Assist with managing internal QA programs IE (Supplier management, Internal release, Product specification, Traceability, Recall etc.)
- Assist with the approval of all new suppliers, co-manufacturers, co-packers and ensure all required documentation, certifications and audit reports are compliant
- Ensure compliance with both Canadian and USA regulations
- Maintenance of CFIA licenses and preventative control plans
- Assist with Complaint program, resolve non-conformances, create efficiencies, and organized quarterly data to leadership and co-manufacturers
- Provide timely feedback on quality issues with recommended corrective actions and/or preventative measures
- Involved in the continuous development of the Quality Management System through risk assessment, creating new procedures, and identifying efficiencies
- Manage data of technical results for review
- Collect and analyze statistical quality data to identify areas of improvement
- Assist with the compliance of an internal testing program for finished products
- Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product compliance
- Support innovation department as required
- Support QA manager with projects and other duties as assigned

The Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum diploma in Microbiology, Quality Assurance, Food Science, or other related scientific field
- 2+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance/Food Safety within the food industry
- Formal HACCP course completed
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- GSFI implementation preferred
- Knowledge of Canadian and USA regulatory experience preferred
