We are currently accepting applications for a Registered or Provisional Psychologist with experience in counselling for Stoney Nakoda Education located in Morley, Alberta.
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Develop treatment goals to assist in determining therapeutic progress.
- Review therapeutic interventions with parents and staff on a regular basis.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team of clinicians.
- Supporting parents through parenting concerns and challenges, offering resources and strategies from a trauma-informed and strength-based perspective, and focused on parenting skills, decreasing risk factors, increasing protective factors and functional capacity.
- Provide assessments and counselling according to client needs.
- Documentation/Record Keeping: record observations/complete progress notes, document direct/indirect time, write service summary reports or assessment reports, summarize recommendations and monthly kilometers.
- Consult with funders, partners in the community (as needed).
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology and current registration and good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Consideration may be given to the right Provisional Psychologist.
- Experience in counselling and working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Experience with trauma-informed practice knowledge and experience.
- Experience providing assessments and counselling according to client needs.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong interest in maintaining and continuing competencies in their areas of practice.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists, Code of Professional Conduct, Principles for Psychological Testing, Family Enhancement Act, Mental Health Act, Persons with Disabilities Act.
- A reliable vehicle, auto insurance with a minimum $2,000,000.00 liability and driver’s license is required.
- Must have professional liability insurance.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience completing assessments for children/students.
