Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is currently recruiting a Senior Operational Technology (OT) Analyst to join the OT Infrastructure team.  This position reports to the Supervisor, OT Infrastructure in the Information Services Unit (ISU).

This position will be accountable for the maintenance, upkeep, security, monitoring, and ongoing development of the existing field OT environment and server hardware, as well as participate in new pipeline and system initiatives for Pembina’s natural gas pipeline assets.

Pembina’s Information Services Unit (ISU), manages and maintains the company’s infrastructure, provides technical support, ensures data security and accessibility, implements new technology, strategies for future development, manages vendors, and ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety; 
  • Provide support to maintain and upgrade field OT infrastructure;
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems encountered with the field OT infrastructure;
  • Test and install patches and hotfixes to the field OT infrastructure remotely;
  • Work closely with the field OT infrastructure vendors as required;
  • Install and administrate physical and virtual machines in a Windows environment, including domain joined and non-domain joined machines;
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, including servers, workstations, and operator consoles;
  • Configure and maintain supporting systems, such as: Veeam backup, SolarWinds, SQL Server databases, and SCCM patching;
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by following processes and completing documentation;
  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures;
  • Collaborate and coordinate within multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Flexibility to provide after-hours support and occasional off-site work will be necessary, given that our pipelines are operated and monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Stratus and Supermicro hardware;
  • Experience with Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI);
  • Familiarity with Microsoft environments is an asset, including: operating systems (Windows 10/11, Server 2016 or newer), virtual machine management (Hyper-V), domain administration (Active Directory, Group Policy Management), database administration (SQL Server Management Studio), and patching (WSUS);
  • Experience administering VMware environments;
  • 10+ years of infrastructure experience in a high availability environment, involving progressively more challenging responsibilities;
  • Preference given for degree, diploma or certification in computer science, computer engineering technology, network engineering technology, electrical engineering, etc; and 
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
