LandSure is a subsidiary of the Land Title and Survey Authority of BC (LTSA), a publicly accountable, statutory corporation that manages BC’s land title and survey systems. Our team of nearly 100 employees supports the LTSA through information system consulting services, project management, customer support, and communications.

We believe in a hybrid of remote and in-office work and know you’ll love our downtown Vancouver office as much as we do! Our employees can work either entirely in the office, or a hybrid of both remote and in-office. What you’ll do:
The Director, Product Portfolio (Property Solutions) is responsible for driving the successful delivery of products and services with a particular focus on geo-spatial and survey-related products. This includes overseeing multiple product teams, ensuring market alignment, and driving continuous improvement of product management practices. The Director leads the vision and road map for a portfolio of products and services offered to customers and used by internal operations within the context of the corporate strategic business plan. The portfolio may include a mix of statutory services and commercial product offerings. A key part of this role is also working with the Geodata Services manager, whose team handles the day-to-day operation of our ParcelMap BC and AutoProp products.



Reporting to the VP and Chief Product Officer, the Director plays an important role in driving the achievement of the corporate strategy and product vision across the organization and ensures that the product portfolio remains evergreen which includes conceiving, defining, testing, operating, monitoring, and continually improving in order to maximize business benefits for our customers and internal operations while meeting business objectives.

In a product-centered matrixed organization, the Director must navigate the complexities of product management across the organization. The Director will drive product success with direct responsibility for all business and technical requirements, ensuring the continuous delivery of products and work effectively with a wide range of customers, external and internal stakeholder groups and internal product team(s), while promoting a self-organizing culture that makes lean and agile product delivery successful.

Key Responsibilities:


Create, maintain and convey strategy, vision and road maps – Develops and promotes the direction for the products and services in the portfolio through the creation of product strategies, visions and roadmaps that guide the product team in building the right products that meet customer and stakeholder needs and the organization’s business objectives. Effectively conveys the product vision in a way that unites people behind it. Drives principles on reusability and consistency, where necessary.
Product road map – Defines product business goals, objectives capabilities and associated business outcomes delivered by the products. Ensures that the product road map aligns to the product vision at all times and finds an appropriate balance between short-term and long-term priorities.
Managing Dependencies and Constraints – Works across Product and Technology Teams to ensure road maps, backlogs, objectives and priorities reflect technical, resource and other dependencies and constraints.
Business case – Prepares business cases for new or major product enhancements.
Stakeholder consultation – Consults with stakeholder groups to ensure that products continue to meet existing or forthcoming legislative, regulatory legal, or market requirements. Promotes upcoming changes with stakeholder groups to ensure that they are fully aware and prepared for changes.
Customer-focus – Ensures extensive customer feedback is received by various means to ensure the “voice of the customer” is understood and reflected in strategy, vision and roadmaps.
Market Expansion – Supports the Business Development Team in identification and pursuit of opportunities in the public interest and aligned with strategy.
Strategic Advisor – Engage with statutory officials, ministries, external decision-makers, customers, and stakeholders to shape the portfolio’s future. Provide strategic recommendations to senior executive.
Legislation and policy – Ensures that all services provided by the products are in compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and corporate policy.
Product delivery – Ensures all products in the portfolio are delivered to customers within the product budget and schedule constraints whilst meeting stakeholder and customer expectations.
Team leadership – Leads assigned roles and team members through the entire product lifecycle, ensuring team members understand priorities, and operate within their decision making rights.
Schedule and benefit management – Ensures the product team operates within the agreed budget and schedule and that the product portfolio is able to generate business benefits agreed in the business case.
Collaboration Methodology – Ensures collaboration and alignment with architecture, technology and contributes to corporate best practices guidelines.
Best Practices and Standards – Works with Product Managers to define Product Management best practices and implement those processes. Ensures continuous learning and improvement are part of the every day experience for staff.
We encourage you to apply if you have:
Education and Experience
Professional degree such as computer science, engineering or business.
10+ years of relevant experience in product management, preferably in a regulated sector with high transaction volumes.
Experience in the geo-spatial domain or a background in managing geo-spatial products.
Strong business background and understanding of how to work within the customer and stakeholder groups landscape.
Communicates clearly and succinctly to all levels of the organization — from Executive through to policy and technical staff — to drive clarity and alignment in outcomes and responsibilities.
Builds strong motivated teams, inspires them to do their best work and successfully navigates the wide variety of technology, personal and organizational challenges present in complex environments.
Experience with continuously improving and innovating existing electronic services in order to both enhance customer experience and reduce operational costs.
Experience with defining and launching new lines of business, utilizing electronic service delivery.
Extensive information technology experience preferred.
Experience with preparing and getting approval of product road maps, and business cases.
Experience with real estate or public sector preferred.

We are dedicated to transparency in our hiring process. $143,800 – $179,700 annually, reflects a reasonable expectation for pay for the position depending on qualifications and experience. This compensation is specific to the role within our organization and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to job-related skills, experience and relevant training or education, business and organizational needs.
