Investment Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented financial professional with strong fundamental business analysis capabilities to join our growing Investment Team as an Analyst, Investments .

As a key member of the Investment Team, the candidate will support other team members in conducting financial statement analysis, financial modelling, and assisting in the due diligence process focused primarily on public fixed income investments in the North American leveraged finance markets for the Invico Diversified Income Fund. Responsibilities The Analyst, Investments will play a key role in working with senior investment professionals to source, analyze, and monitor portfolio investments. Key responsibilities are as follows: · Performing in-depth fundamental research on corporate credits in the high-yield and syndicated loan space in a range of industries · Actively monitoring and owning models of existing portfolio positions · Produce written reports such as company evaluations, quarterly updates, and industry reviews · Draft investment committee memos and materials on potential new portfolio investments Key Attributes · Strong financial modelling capabilities and a high level of proficiency in Excel · Strong understanding of financial statements, capital structures, and general risks of fixed income securities · Demonstrated ability to make judgments regarding credit risk, business risk, and enterprise valuations · Ability to work independently with limited direction on multiple transactions · Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail · Superior verbal and written communication skills with an ability to present investment ideas · A passion for financial markets · Enjoyment working in a smaller, fast-paced company environment · An entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for taking initiative · Willing to collaborate in a team environment · Dedicated with the ability to work extended hours when needed to achieve the investment mandate Required Education, Experience & Skills · University degree in accounting or finance · Minimum Level 1 CFA required · 1-3 years of investment-related experience in either investment banking, private equity, asset management or in a fixed income role Additional Information: · Good credit and clean police check is required · Invico will not cover moving expenses should the successful candidate live outside the Calgary Metropolitan region · Only successful candidates will be contacted for an interview What We Offer Since Invico’s founding days, we’ve had a unique edginess to our presence within the industry.
