We are seeking a Sales Representative to join our team, based in Western Ontario.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with dispatch personnel regarding customer requirements, changes to existing orders and status of potential orders.
  • Communicate with operations to maintain focus on reserve management to balance aggregate production with sales.
  • Budget volume of sales and pricing on individual products for the year and monitors these metrics to aid in developing contingency plans to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Monitor daily inventory of primary products to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Develop new ideas and plans to utilize by-products (i.e. excess aggregate products).
  • Provide assistance to the Credit department, where required to develop plans on how to collect on certain customer accounts.
  • Bid on tendered work, where required and where it matches the company strategy and brings value to the company.
  • Negotiate trucking rates for independent truckers.
  • Arrange scheduling of independent truckers and ensures they are always available and their behaviour meets CBM standards.
  • Act as first contact or follow up for customers with problems and complaints.
  • Attend Ready Mix sales meetings to improve inter-divisional collaboration, communication, and the sharing of information and ideas.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sales, with a focus on customer relationship management
  • Experience in the aggregate or materials industry is a significant asset
  • Postsecondary education in related field, either college or university
  • Valid Ontario G Class drivers license, with access to personal vehicle
  • Ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, and solve problems
  • Adept with basic computer functions including Microsoft Office products
