AltaGas – Sr Director, Core Transactional Finance Functional Program Lead
The Core Transactional Finance Functional Lead is the lead business resource responsible and accountable for the achievement of the business outcomes defined within the program. This senior leader will play a pivotal role in driving change within the Finance organization. The primary responsibility will be to oversee and implement strategic initiatives that enhance business operations, foster innovation, and achieve short and long-term goals. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external partners to ensure successful execution of the transformation program.
You Will:
Drive consistency in the Core Transactional Finance Vision across AltaGas’ core business segments by aligning key finance stakeholders on a target state operating model, a target state architecture that underpins efficient and effective finance execution, and a common reporting structure and chart of accounts
Champion process efficiency, effectiveness and align target state processes across finance for in scope Core transactional Finance Processes
Work with key strategic partners to deliver on the CTF vision, working closely with Solution implementation partners and the broader CTF program leadership to deliver effective work products
Act as the accountable leader for finance in the day to day leadership of the program, bringing relevant finance stakeholders to the table and ensuring key requirements and functional needs are addressed
You Have
Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance, Accounting, MIS or other related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience
Preference towards accounting accreditation (CPA, CFA or equivalent) in either Canada or the United States
Minimum of ten years of related experience working in Finance leadership roles, preferably with experience in Finance system implementations, target operating model design, chart of accounts design, system architecture, and master data management
Previous experience leading a large system transformation similar to this project or related experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills
Experience working with 3rd party vendor support resources to determine the appropriate build versus buy strategy
Utility and energy industry experience is preferred, but not required.
Ability to influence without formal authority, must be able to effectively interact with and communicate with business partners at every level throughout the organization
Preferred candidates will have knowledge and/or experience working with both waterfall and agile delivery approaches
Superior organizational, professional presentation, time management and prioritization skills
Expertise and experience with HCM, ERPs and Financial Systems, particularly in data migration activities and designing integrations with other enterprise systems is an advantage
