Innovative Driven is currently seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in Estate Planning to join the growing, dynamic team at a new boutique firm based in Calgary, Alberta The firm prides itself on innovation, curiosity, and community. This diverse fabric of its identity assists the team in serving its clients with the utmost empathy and commitment to excellence The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of post-bar experience and proficiency in a second language, to better serve our diverse and multicultural clientele. The Associate Attorney will be tasked with providing sophisticated legal counsel to the firm’s clients on their estate & trust planning, probate, and estate/trust administration matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Review and analyze existing estate plans refine and recommend solutions. Collaborate with senior lawyers in drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, personal directives, asset-based transaction documentation, and other estate planning documents. Support the firm’s family law and business law teams Conduct legal research on estate planning issues to Support our litigation team, as necessary and relevant to the practice area Demonstrate empathy in supporting clients during difficult times and family issues Facilitate client intake and onboarding, preparing and filing legal documents for probate proceedings and estate/trust administration.

Assist in resolving estate-related disputes, including power of attorney or personal directive disputes, financial accountability disputes, contested wills/trusts, and general estate litigation. Diligently represent clients in court, mediation or arbitration REQUIREMENTS: Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the bar and in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta. 2-4 years of post-JD/LLB experience in estate planning, probate, or related areas of law, Proficiency in a second language is preferred
