We are seeking a forward-looking, self-managed, entrepreneurial individual to join us as an Associate Lawyer.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Lawyer at JK Law. The Associate Lawyer will be responsible for handling various legal matters, including real estate transactions, corporate/commercial law, wills and estate, family law, and immigration. The day-to-day tasks may include drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, representing clients in court, and providing legal advice and support.



Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and experience in real estate law, wills and estate, family law and immigration,
  • Experience in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research
  • Minimum of 1-year intensive experience handling real estate files in Alberta from beginning to end;
  • Between one and three years of experience in civil litigation, immigration, and family law;
  • Experience in personal injury law will be an asset but required.
  • Experience in related practice areas and additional languages is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • LL.B or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite;
  • Some clients would be an asset;
  • We are happy to take on a more senior lawyer with an existing practice and will consider compensation models that take into account the value of the existing client base.
