Associate Lawyer

Job Description

Fridmar Law is a boutique firm with a strong focus on Construction Law, alongside a dynamic civil, commercial, and real estate litigation practice. We’re a close-knit team that values initiative, precision, and a genuine commitment to advocacy.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage assigned and own files with mentorship and collaboration where needed.

  • Represent clients in court, mediations, discoveries, and arbitrations.

  • Draft pleadings, affidavits, correspondence, etc. with precision and care.

  • Contribute ideas and take part in initiatives that help us connect with Ontario’s contractors, builders, and homeowners.

  • Support the firm’s thought leadership through writing, speaking, outreach, and creative engagements.

  • Uphold Fridmar Law’s reputation for quality, respect, and attention to detail in every communication.

Who You Are

  • A licensed lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

  • 1–3 years of legal experience (construction law preferred, but not mandatory).

  • A strong communicator who writes and formats with precision and professionalism.

  • Organized, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative without constant supervision.

  • Curious about the business of law and how client relationships and trust are built.

  • Seeking a long‑term home, not a short‑term stop. You want to grow with the firm, not simply work for it.

Application Instructions

Please send one PDF package to info@fridmar.com including:

  • Why you want to build your career with Fridmar Law, a boutique firm.

  • At least one practical, lead‑generation and/or client‑growth idea you’d be excited to implement with us. This could be something creative (also realistic) that you believe could strengthen our current efforts and client connections.

  • Include the word granite somewhere in your letter.

  • Writing sample (legal or persuasive; 1.5 spacing; labeled First_FPC2025.pdf)

  • Write a one‑page letter (short email draft) explaining a simple construction law concept to Dan, a fictional contractor client.

(Applications that don’t follow these instructions will not be considered for an interview.)

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with performance incentives.

  • Close mentorship and genuine collaboration with senior counsel.

  • Early responsibility and exposure to complex files.

  • The chance to shape how a growing boutique firm builds its client experience.

  • A supportive, driven team that values growth, integrity, and long‑term trust.

Why Fridmar
