Bilingual Claim Administrator

What you’ll be working on
Setting up and inputting new claims (short term disability, long-term disability, life waiver, life, etc)
Assigning claims to claim managers with consideration given to workload, workflow and complexity criteria
Reviewing and analyzing data to determine benefit eligibility and gather contract provision information relating to the pre-existing condition exclusion and non-evidence maximum guidelines
Provide ongoing and timely communication with our customers based on department protocols; provide claim status updates, request information, address general enquiries and clearly explain processes.
Participating in team collaboration to ensure optimal workflow and adherence to client service levels
Responding to incoming enquiries from our customers, vendors, medical offices in a timely manner
Preparing memos, documenting the call for the claimants file and correspondence as requested by team members
Managing permanent disability claims with an emphasis on the CPP-D/QPP-D application process
Calculating CPP-D/QPP-D offsets and overpayments
What we’re looking for you to have
3+ years work experience in an office setting
Completion of a college diploma in Business Administration or a related program
Bilingualism (French/English) is required
Customer focused and service orientated
Excellent listening and verbal/written communication skills
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and database computer software
Knowledge of group insurance business operations
Ability to apply policy terms and make timely decisions to solve problems
Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and have attention to detail/accuracy while being adaptable and flexible
Ability to take initiative, work independently and contribute as a collaborative team member
