We have partnered with BentallGreenOak (BGO), to find a Building Operator, Level 2, to work in a brand new, 32 storey, 534,000 square foot office tower based at 1090 West Pender, Downtown Vancouver. This role is Mon-Friday. Your New Role As a Building Operator, Level 2, your days will be filled with a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the building’s systems and satisfy tenant needs.
You’ll conduct regular testing, inspect the premises, and keep detailed documentation on the building’s condition. Working closely with contractors, you’ll manage repairs, maintenance agreements, and act as a liaison during construction projects. Your expertise will also extend to maintaining climate control systems, participating in an on-call rotation for the entire portfolio, and overseeing both scheduled and unscheduled repairs across a wide range of systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
What You Need to Succeed Success in this role comes with a blend of technical qualifications and soft skills. A 4th Class power engineer certificate and at least two years of experience in a similar role are essential. Strong communication abilities and relationship-building skills are key, as you’ll be interacting with various levels within the company.
Time management skills and the ability to work under pressure are also critical, as the role involves managing tight deadlines, handling multiple demands, and occasionally working in challenging conditions.
