Building Services Plumber

The purpose of Facilities Maintenance is to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and systems to support the smooth functioning of airport operations. p>This Plumber position presents a unique opportunity to work on the largest building in BC, exposing you to a diverse range of exciting systems. By leveraging your expertise in diagnosing and promptly resolving plumbing issues, delivering exceptional customer service, and contributing to a seamless and efficient workflow, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the building’s infrastructure and ensuring the utmost satisfaction of our clients. A sample of the many systems you will be responsible for include sewage, fire protection, dyke pump stations, fire hydrants and back flow preventers throughout Sea Island.

Inspecting, repairing, and testing backflow assemblies Preventative and corrective maintenance of sewer, storm and dyke pump stations Responding to flooding: sewer/ storm backups, waterline/water main breaks Responding to fire suppression system issues Five years’ recent, related experience in an airport and/or industrial plant environment, supplemented by a Red Seal in Plumbing Demonstrated experience with back flow prevention testing, with various types of mechanical and electrical equipment, and in asset lifecycle development and management Ability to interpret and apply the National Plumbing Code Valid BC driver’s license Shift work is required as the Maintenance Department operates on a 24-hour basis.
