Job Information Job Title: Business Analyst Job Requisition ID: 51402 Ministry: Health Location: Edmonton Full or Part-Time: Full-time Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week Regular/Temporary: Regular Scope: Open Competition Closing Date: August 30, 2024 Classification: Program Services 3 Market Adjustment Salary: $2,626.89 to $3,448.73 bi-weekly ($68,561- $90,011/year) Role Responsibilities If you are a passionate individual looking to make the next leap in your career path, we want to hear from you The Information Technology Operations Branch is looking for a Business Analyst who is innovative, self-motivated and enjoys working with multiple technologies including web-based applications, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products and custom applications.

If you are a self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment, you will definitely be interested in this opportunity with the Health Information Systems team. As a Business Analyst , you will be recognized for your business and technical expertise on system development, maintenance and enhancement initiatives. You will be required to handle daily operational activities, as well as develop and review new services and technologies proposed by Vendors.

You will assess the impact of recommended changes against existing operational systems and processes and provide recommendations and options to ensure successful implementation with quality outcomes. Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent will plan and coordinate deliverables from analysis through to implementation. The incumbent is responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements, validating design specifications and ensuring all Alberta Health standards are met.

You will research and support resolution of business process and policy issues. You will also be responsible for communications with stakeholders, user acceptance test planning and execution, user documentation and training. Your strong leadership skills and experience working with diverse stakeholder groups, along with your proactive problem-solving skills, assist in delivering effective business solutions.

Your organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks assist you in handling shifting priorities. Your critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, systems thinking, negotiation, written, oral and facilitation skills are essential in this position. These responsibilities require an energetic approach in seeing tasks through to completion to ensure quality services are delivered with positive business results.

Minimum Recruitment Standards (MRS) A University Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or in a related field supplemented by a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience in an IT focused business analyst role is required . Required experience includes: System development and support experience IT focused business analyst work experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with data analysis, mapping, and transformation Preference will be given to individuals with: Over 3 years of related experience in business analysis role in a large organization Understanding of the system development lifecycle The following experience is considered an asset : Business Analyst and/or Project Management Certification Knowledge of projects and activities within the health system Microsoft Excel experience (Ex. Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and Power Query) A cover letter outlining how your experience relates to the qualifications of this role is required .

Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one-for-one basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
