The Foundation Drill Rig Operator is responsible for:

  1. Understanding all functions of the drill rig they are operating, following the OEM Manuals for safety, operations, & maintenance, and Hall Shoring & Foundation Safety Program.
  2. Conducting pre-trip equipment inspections prior to operation, ensuring damages or required repairs are documented and reported to the site supervisor.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  1. Operating company drill rig in a safe manner and to OEM specifications.
  2. Completing basic maintenance tasks.
  3. Reporting any damages or required repairs to the site supervisor immediately.
  4. Assisting with training and development of new workers.
  5. Maintaining and completing daily paperwork provided by the site supervisor.
  6. Ensuring any unsafe activities or directions are stopped and reported to the site supervisor.
  7. Ensuring proper foundation location is being completed with help from ground personnel.
  8. Helping ensure foundation quality is maintained as per design specifications.
  9. Complying with all site safety rules.
  10. Promoting and maintaining a safe and fair working culture.
  11. Following proper hoisting and rigging practices.

You have the following qualifications, technical and interpersonal skills:



Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CFA (Continuous Flight Auger) foundation and shoring drilling activities.
  • Education: grade 12 with diploma.
  • Understanding and interpreting drawings.
  • Knowledgeable in construction cut off elevations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Designations: Valid Driver’s License/Ground Disturbance.

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding means and methods of construction associated with foundation drilling, site utility, underground utility, and construction.
  • Understanding work sequencing and strategy for schedules.
  • Being goal-oriented and able to react quickly to challenging circumstances to achieve desired results.
  • Being organized, proactive, planning well, and addressing problems promptly.
  • Knowledgeable with ground disturbance, ground stabilization along trenches, underground and overhead utilities.
  • Operating equipment with a strong understanding of capabilities.
