Adecco is presently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Chief Engineer – 3rd Class Power Engineering on a full-time, permanent basis, to be stationed at our esteemed client’s facility in Port Moody, BC. This role entails assuming comprehensive responsibility for the operation and maintenance of plant utility equipment, including high-pressure steam boilers, a Cooling Tower, Air compressors, among other vital assets.   • Shifts : Monday – Friday | 8 hours /day

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the daily operation and maintenance of plant steam boilers and maintaining a detailed boiler log.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact outside regular hours for boiler-related issues.
  • Conducting scheduled preventive maintenance on all Utility equipment as part of the maintenance team and addressing Utility-related work orders.
  • Identifying necessary spare parts and determining site stock inventory for critical spares associated with Utility equipment.
  • Maintaining meticulous equipment records for utility machinery.
  • Participating in coordinating and completing required pressure vessel regulatory inspections.
  • Carrying out additional duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Possession of Red Seal and 3rd Class Power Engineering certificates is a requirement.
  • Must have experience in a chemicals plant
  • Proficiency in handling high-pressure steam equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing various types of pumps and valves commonly used in steam systems.
  • Electrical competency obtained through Power Engineering studies to conduct minor instrument repairs.
  • Ability to lift and handle a minimum of 50 lbs. load from floor level to standing position.
  • Regularly perform tasks such as walking, bending, squatting, climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Capable of working in both indoor and outdoor environments throughout the year.
  • Ability to utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a full-face respirator, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and a hard hat.
  • Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
