Your New Company:

You will be working for a well-established, family-owned commercial real estate company with a portfolio of retail assets under management across Calgary. With a strong foundation in retail property development and management, they are actively expanding into multi-family residential development to meet Calgary’s growing housing needs. They are moving into a major growth phase for the company and are looking for a CEO to come in and lead the business.

Position Overview:

This company are seeking an experienced and visionary CEO to lead the organization through its next phase of growth, particularly as they expand their portfolio into multi-family development while maintaining a strong retail presence. The successful candidate will work closely with the family ownership group, who will sit on the board of directors, to drive strategic initiatives while maintaining our company’s core values and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and vision for the organization’s growth, including expansion into multi-family development while optimizing our retail portfolio
• Implement efficiencies to the reporting processes across ownership, financial and management reporting.
• Oversee capital allocation, project feasibility analysis, and investment decisions
• Lead and develop a high-performing executive team while fostering the family-business culture
• Drive operational excellence across property management, development, and leasing divisions
• Ensure strong financial performance and responsible growth of our asset portfolio
• Guide the organization’s ESG initiatives and community engagement efforts
• Strong focus on the development side of the business as they look to rezone and develop large portions of their land.

Qualifications:

• Progressive leadership experience in commercial real estate, with exposure to both retail and multi-family development
• Proven track record of successfully leading development projects from conception to completion
• Strong understanding of the Calgary real estate market and its growth dynamics
• Experience working with family-owned businesses is a benefit
