As a CNC Press Brake Operator, you’ll be part of our Machine Shop team, responsible for the full cycle of precision fabrication—configuring machines, setting up and fine-tuning operations, and ensuring top-quality production. You’ll work with advanced equipment, including press brakes, flat sheet lasers, shears, tube lasers, and tube benders, to produce high-quality metal components that keep our buses on the road.</p><p>We’re looking for operators who don’t just run machines—they know how to get the most out of them. If you’re proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about quality, this is your opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.</p><strong>WHY JOIN OUR TEAM:</strong><ul><li>Competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package.</li><li>A continuous learning environment.</li><li>Ability to advance your career with a growing company.</li><li>NFI Group has been named a Manitoba Top Employer for 2020 and this is the tenth since the competition was established in 2007.</li><li>Employee social committee organizes numerous events throughout the year, including summer barbecues, holiday festivities, sporting events and tournaments, and much more.</li><li>Ongoing employee development through a variety of in-house training initiatives along with tuition subsidies for courses at outside institutions.</li></ul><strong>WHAT YOU WILL DO:</strong><ul><li>Operate and set up CNC press brakes, shears, and punches to shape and form metal parts with precision. </li><li> Select and install appropriate punches and dies based on material specifications. </li><li> Load programs, configure machine settings, and fine-tune operations to ensure optimal performance. </li><li> Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues such as incorrect bends, material inconsistencies, or tool wear. </li><li> Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and process sheets to ensure components meet exact specifications. </li><li> Use advanced measuring tools (calipers, protractors, tape measures) to verify dimensions and tolerances. </li><li> Perform secondary operations such as sawing, laser cutting, and tube bending as needed. </li><li> Take ownership of your work—ensuring first-time quality, maintaining an organized workspace, and proactively solving problems before they impact production. </li><li> Follow all safety protocols and support a culture of continuous improvement.</li></ul><strong>WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL:</strong><ul><li><strong>2+ years of experience</strong> operating and programming CNC press brakes (Cincinnati, Accurpress, or similar).</li><li>Proficiency with fabrication equipment such as:</li><ul><li>Press brakes </li><li>Flat sheet lasers </li><li>Tube lasers </li><li>Shears </li><li>Tube benders </li><li>Shears and Punches. </li></ul><li> Strong knowledge of <strong>CNC machine operation</strong>, <strong>sheet metal fabrication</strong>, and <strong>metal forming processes</strong>. </li><li> Proficiency in <strong>tooling setup</strong>, <strong>bend allowances</strong>, and <strong>material properties</strong> (aluminum, stainless steel, steel). </li><li> Ability to read and interpret <strong>technical drawings</strong>, <strong>blueprints</strong>, and work within tight tolerances. </li><li> Skilled in using <strong>precision measuring instruments</strong> (calipers, micrometers, tape measures). </li><li> Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize machine performance for first-time quality. </li><li> Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to train or mentor less experienced operators (a plus).</li></ul><p><strong>OUR WHY: </strong></p><p>We exist to move people.
