Position: Senior Legal Support Specialist – Commercial Real Estate & Corporate Transactions

Location: Burlington (Hybrid Work Model)

Salary Range: CAD $70,000 ‑ $90,000 annually

Experience Required: 8–10+ years’ experience in commercial real estate law, with some residential and corporate exposure

Reporting To: Senior Partner at a well‑established law firm (125+ years in practice)

Team Structure: You’ll support one senior partner on commercial real‑estate and corporate matters, collaborate with a junior associate on residential real‑estate files, and carry some administrative/back‑office functions across the team.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a calm, tech‑savvy, organized and friendly legal support professional who is comfortable operating at a paralegal/clerk level, bridging substantive real‑estate work and firm operations. The core focus is on commercial real estate transactions, with some residential real‑estate, corporate financing/loan support and administrative overlap. You will assist the senior partner with high‑value deals, support the junior associate on residential workflow, and help optimise firm‑wide operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage commercial real estate files (sales, acquisitions, leasing, refinancing, large‑scale financing) from document drafting through closing.
  • Support residential real‑estate transactions handled by the junior associate: open/close files, coordinate with agents/lenders/title companies, prepare documentation and schedule closings.
  • Provide corporate transaction and financing support: entity resolutions, minute‑book maintenance, large commercial loans, valuations, lender deliverables and document management.
  • Use technology effectively: document management systems (e.g., iManage or equivalent), e‑signature platforms, conveyancing software, secure file tracking and version control.
  • Handle administrative tasks and support personnel: file workflows, scheduling, backup support, cross‑functional coordination.
  • Operate as a team player: support the senior partner, collaborate with the junior associate, and contribute to the firm’s smooth, high‑quality service delivery.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 8–10+ years of legal support experience, primarily in commercial real‑estate law, with familiarity or interest in residential real‑estate and corporate/finance matters.
  • Demonstrated experience with large‑scale financing/loans, valuations, lender documentation or complex real‑estate transactions.
  • Proficient with legal/real‑estate technology systems and tools; comfortable adapting to firm platforms.
  • Organised, patient, friendly, calm under pressure; excellent interpersonal and client‑service skills, with a team‑oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to engage in both substantive real‑estate transactional work and administrative operations support — helping to grow and evolve the role.
