Communications Advisor

This role is primarily remote work, with occasional requirements to be onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures consistency of corporate brand narrative across various internal and external communication channels.
- Writes, edits and reviews various internal and external communications.
- Develops and maintains internal and external communication assets including presentation decks, reports, speaking notes, briefs, brochures, etc.
- Contributes to content development for annual marketing strategy.
- Creates social media strategies and contributes to managing the organization’s social media accounts.
- Develops social media content to highlight impact and share inspiring stories about our clients.
- Analyzes & reports social media and website metrics to inform strategy.
- Leads communications contact related to core programs.
- Manages social media scheduling tools with others.
- Works with internal departments to develop communication strategies and materials.

Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Expert in social media platforms (currently Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube).
- Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite/Adobe (Acrobat Pro, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop) considered an asset.
- Proven experience working with content management systems.
- Proven experience developing and managing communication strategies.
- Experience in public relations.
- Awareness of cultural, economic and social barriers to adult learning and employment, especially for women.
- Experience and comfort working independently and in collaboration with a team and community members.
- Alignment with WBF’s values and culture, including a commitment to continuous learning and creating safe, inclusive workplaces with respect for all employees, applicants, students and stakeholders.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and customer relationship management software (CRM).
Education and Experience
- Degree or diploma in communications, public relations or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in:
- Communications role that supports brand narrative across various external channels (social media, website, earned media, etc.).
- Communications consulting to provide guidance on internal and external communication best practices.
- Digital marketing and online content management.
- Managing website content and maintaining online strategies.
- Navigating Google Analytics to monitor and report on website metrics.
- Online newsletter creation and mass distribution.
Salary commensurate with experience.
