We are currently accepting applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This position is based out of our Janice McTighe Centre (2050 21 St NE, Calgary, AB) and is a permanent position.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline such as business, not-for-profit management, public relations, communications, or marketing.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in resource development, project management or related field, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.
  • Proven experience developing, implementing and/or operation of a successful annual and/or capital campaign.
  • Demonstrated ability to make compelling and successful philanthropic asks ranging from $10,000 – $500,000+.
  • CFRE or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong experience with marketing and communications including digital marketing platforms, social media and tracking trends for the not-for-profit sector.
  • Demonstrated experience with event management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Prior experience in one or more funding database programs is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Executive Team.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of individuals, corporations, foundations, families, and granting organizations that have been contacted in the past and/or as part of the recent campaign.
  • Continue to foster new leads and additions to the database through outreach, networking and utilizing the contacts of the Board and Senior Executive Team.
  • Utilize the database to track all donations received and update weekly.
  • Lead the development and implementation of annual capital, and multi-year fundraising plans in support of Renfrew’s vision, mission, and goals.
  • Coordinate all aspects of a comprehensive fundraising program including major gifts, grant applications, fundraising events (internal and third party), electronic mail, online giving, planned giving, and donor stewardship.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward the portfolio of donor prospects, including individuals, corporations, foundations, community groups, and granting organizations/agencies.
  • Lead the development of high-quality support materials, proposals, grant applications, presentations, and other communication materials for presentations to donors, prospects, and community partners.
  • Lead the production of the organization’s annual report.
  • Ensure all past donors are kept apprised of our progress and new initiatives through distribution of a regularly produced newsletter of other such correspondence.
  • Monitor annual plan performance for achievement of donor revenue targets.
  • Monitor external environment including regulatory landscape, political and economic outlook, sector and industry trends, for strategic adjustments and engage organizational leadership appropriately.
  • Lead in the development, implementation, and measurement of internal and external communication strategies (i.e., community newsletter).
  • Provide reports, (written/oral), quarterly to the Renfrew Educational Services’ Foundation Board.
