Your New Company: Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with an established financial services firm based in Vancouver, BC. We are currently hiring for a Compensation Analyst to join their team on a 12 Month Contract, which has the possibility of extension. This candidate will be required to work hybrid 3 days in-office Responsibilities: Coordinate, track and manage the employee compensation program, such as manage the day-to-day administration of the company’s share-based programs and ensures that all share-based activity is accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
Deliver all aspects of long-term incentive (LTIP) transactions and other Share-Based compensation plans efficiently and accurately, including data management, recording and grant creation, vesting events, cancellations, terminations, processing payment of vested awards and exercises. Maintain the integrity of all files and electronic databases related to the administration of all share-based compensation plans including (LTIP, Stock Options, DSUs etc. Provide admin, system support to stakeholders (employee stock participants) as well as analytical and special project support to Manager, Payroll and above in relation to Share-Based Compensation dealings.
Provide support for quarterly dividend calculations and payments. Liaise with other departments such as Legal, Benefits and Operations Department (Settlements, Securities, Transfers etc.) as needed pertaining to any share-based activities such as deliveries of shares. Coordinate with Tax/Finance and Payroll Departments on matters related and confirm appropriate rates are applied on taxable events.
Preparation for and support of the company’s annual compensation cycle. Back-fill support to Payroll Team relating to Accounting/GL/Loans etc. Assist in processing a full-cycle semi-monthly payroll (as needed) Assist with the review and documentation of current payroll processes.
Assist with controls and auditing documentation and testing. Assist in preparing and delivering various reporting or spreadsheets as needed. Assist in project related to post-implementation of the new Payroll system and provides input with process improvement.
Work closely and collaboratively with other members of the Payroll, Benefits and HR team. Perform ad hoc projects and other related duties as assigned. Requirements : Degree in Accounting, or Business Administration, or related discipline with Courses in Share-Based Compensation and Rewards with equivalent work experience.
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in stock plan administration for a publicly traded corporation. Certification in stock plan administration discipline (e.g., CEP – Certified Equity Prof. or a like) a plus. PCP Certification from Canadian Payroll Association is an asset.
Financial Acumen and Ability to Synthesize data and present recommendation. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Adaptable to changes in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with positive mentality.
Highly motivated, and ability to work both with minimal supervision and/or work in a team environment. Attention to detail, timely follow-up, excellent multi-tasking skills. Strong technical skill/knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) Advanced Skills – Vlookups, Formulas, Macros, Pivot Tables Approachable, Resourceful and Solution Finder and has the confidence and ability to communicate with senior management.
