<p><p><b>Corporate Controller</b></p></p> <p>Employment Type</p> <p>Permanent</p> <p>Location</p> <p>Toronto, Ontario</p> Apply SHARE THIS JOB <br/> <p><p><b>Job Description:</b></p></p> <p>Our client in the logistics and distribution space is looking for an established Controller to join their team as a lead for their Canadian operations. As the Controller for the Canada Operations, you will be responsible for handling Month-end Close/reconciliations/reporting, managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, tracking Key performance Indicators, working with the tax partners for statutory reporting and filings for Canada, Forecasting and Budgeting, and providing support to the Regional business Partners. This position will report to the Corporate Controller with a dotted line to the President of Canada Operations.</p><p>Responsibilities of the Corporate Controller is as follows, but not limited to:</p>
<li>Manage the overall direction, coordination, and development of the Accounting/Finance Department. Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. </li>
<li>Timely and accurate completion of the month-end close process, including completion of all balance sheet reconciliations.</li>
<li>Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.</li>
<li>Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, perpetual inventory, fixed asset records, and general accounting. </li>
<li>Drive the financial forecasts, budgets, and other financial targets for the division.</li>
<li>Provide Key Performance Metrics reporting, perform in-depth analysis and explain financial results to Senior Leadership within Canada and at Corporate.</li>
<li>Provide financial analysis to evaluate divisional special projects, programs, capital expenditures, product costing, etc., when necessary. </li>
<li>Drive the annual financial audit for the division and coordinate statutory reporting/requirements with our Tax Partner in Canada.</li>
<li>Focus on continuous process improvement.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li> <p>TMGNY</p> <p><p><b>Job Requirements:</b></p></p> <li>BS or BA in accounting, finance, or economics.</li>
<li>MBA, CPA or CMA a plus but not required.</li>
<li>Previous experience of 1-3+ years in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or another high-volume transaction environment.</li>
<li>Previous Audit experience, or at least interacting with external auditors.</li>
<li>Proven history of successfully managing the accounting and finance functions at multiple facilities.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of VAT and import duties in Canada.</li>
<li>Experience in integrating acquisitions.</li>
<li>Track record of strong individual performance with demonstrated financial, operations and management talent and a desire to participate in a team environment.</li>
<li>Progressive work experience of minimum of seven years in accounting and/or finance, along with prior Supervisory experience.</li>
<li>Previous experience in a multinational company, preferrable a U.S. based company; along with an understanding of Intercompany Accounting.</li>
<li>Capability to work with others, not only direct reports, to accomplish goals and objectives.</li>
<li>Ability to effectively communicate and influence others through the employment of sound judgement and good sense rather than the use of authority.</li>
<li>Highest standards of integrity, loyalty, honesty, morals and ethics.</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, such as Prophet 21.</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize tasks as required and multi-task.</li> Apply
