Work Arrangement: Hybrid Overview: The Director of Corporate Development will play a pivotal role in driving growth through strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and divestitures. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Capital Markets and involves collaborating closely with senior leadership and external stakeholders The Corporate Development team is primarily involved with the identification, assessment and execution of strategic transactions. Additionally, the team actively engages with our business unit partners in supporting their efforts in developing, evaluating and executing organic business initiatives while supporting our service unit partners where our expertise is required.

To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety; Head the development and execution of the company’s corporate development plan in alignment with overall business objectives and the corporate strategy; Lead Corporate Developments efforts on high-priority projects, including strategic and transformation transactions, business development opportunities and capital allocation decisions; Identify and evaluate potential M&A opportunities, partnerships, and joint ventures that support growth initiatives and enhance market position; Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, financial analysis, and valuation assessments for potential transactions; Manage the negotiations and collaborate with legal, finance, and operational teams to structure and execute transactions; Provide input into Pembina’s evolving capital allocation framework, working closely with the Strategy team and Corporate Planning; Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, investment bankers, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities; Effectively lead and develop a high functioning team; providing guidance, training, mentoring, performance management and facilitating employees’ career development; Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market conditions to identify opportunities and risks; Prepare and present strategic recommendations and business cases to senior management and the Board of Directors; Collaborate effectively with business leaders and cross-functional teams to provide insightful financial analysis to support tactical and strategic decision making; Oversee the development of pro forma financial models / valuation analyses; Capacity to effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities while maintaining insight into the completion of strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations; and Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field. Completion of a further finance designation (MBA, CBV or CFA) an asset; 15 years’ experience in corporate development or related areas such as corporate finance and investment banking, with proven ability to finalize transactions, coupled with strong financial modelling and valuation skills; Pledge to uphold Pembina’s core Values, which include Safety, Trustworthiness, Respect, Collaboration, and Entrepreneurship; Proven competence and capabilities in managing transitions, steering teams through organizational shifts, and motivating adaptation; established leadership skills with a history of guiding successful teams; Proficient negotiation and decision-making skills with a history of facilitating successful deals and partnerships; Superior written and oral communication skills, able to present complex details in a comprehensible manner across different organizational levels; Entrepreneurial aptitude and agility are critical in this role, as our organization is evolving; and Deep understanding of the energy industry, and familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the space. Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
