Job Description

Title: Data Analyst / Data Scientist – Customer Data & Analytics

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Customer Data & Analytics, this role sits at the intersection of advanced analytics, experimentation, and real-world business decision-making. You will work with one of the largest and most comprehensive customer data sets in Canada, digging through a massive data lake to uncover insights that directly shape loyalty strategy, marketing performance, retail operations, and merchandising decisions.
This is a role for someone who enjoys asking sharp questions, forming testable hypotheses, running live experiments, and translating complex analysis into clear, actionable insight. If you enjoy blending statistical rigor with business curiosity and working in an environment where experimentation is not theoretical but operational, this role will feel like home.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:

  • Partnering with business stakeholders to understand objectives, processes, KPIs, and decision points
  • Exploring and querying large-scale customer data sets to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities across the data lake
  • Formulating clear, testable hypotheses aligned to business questions and executing experiments in live environments
  • Designing, running, and analyzing A/B tests, T-tests, and multivariate experiments to inform decision-making
  • Writing and optimizing SQL scripts to automate data pipelines, workflows, and recurring analyses
  • Using Python in a Jupyter Notebook environment for exploratory data analysis, data wrangling, feature creation, and statistical testing
  • Developing and maintaining dashboards and visualizations in Power BI to communicate insights, KPIs, and experiment results
  • Learning and applying cloud-based analytics environments and big-data tools to scale analytics workflows
  • Identifying creative, non-obvious insights that unlock new ways to drive business value
  • Becoming a subject-matter expert in the datasets within your analytics domain
  • Supporting the broader Data & Analytics team on high-impact projects and initiatives
You should have the following in your background to be successful:
  • A degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a closely related role
  • Advanced Python skills, with hands-on experience performing analysis and statistical testing
  • Strong, practical SQL expertise and experience working with complex datasets
  • Proven experience with experimental design, including A/B testing, T-testing, and/or multivariate testing, ideally in partnership with business stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of advanced analytics and data science techniques such as anomaly detection, forecasting, supervised learning, and unsupervised learning
  • Experience building dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Working knowledge of cloud analytics environments such as Azure, GCP, or AWS
  • Exposure to big-data tools such as Spark or Databricks is considered an asset
What’s in it for me?
  • The opportunity to work with one of the largest customer data ecosystems in Canada
  • A role where experimentation, testing, and data-driven decision-making are core to how the business operates
  • High visibility work that directly influences strategy across loyalty, marketing, retail operations, and merchandising
  • A collaborative analytics team that values curiosity, rigor, and practical impact
  • Continuous learning in cloud analytics, big data, and advanced experimentation techniques
