Adecco is currently recruiting for a full-time Data Entry Specialist to fulfill a long-term contract role with a distinguished Oil & Energy company located in Edmonton, AB. We are looking for experienced Data Entry Specialist from Engineering firms or from oil & gas industry, along with excellent Document management skills.   • Location: Edmonton, AB ( On-site)
  • Shifts: Monday – Friday| 8 hours/day
  • Job type: Full-time | Long-Term Contract

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enters and updates information into computer programs or databases.
  • Assesses files to determine what information needs to be entered and the appropriate location for entry.
  • Prepares source data for entry by compiling and sorting information and establishes entry priorities.
  • Gather metadata from files within LAN folders to transfer to excel workbook and/or database.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to support decisions made on tasks
  • Update controlled binders and manuals
  • Print and compile updates to controlled binders and manuals
  • Process updates to controlled forms
  • Data entry – enter new requests
  • Support Verification & Validation (V&Vs) on controlled binders, manuals and drawings
  • Follow ups on outstanding drawing and document update requests (TRs and DRFTs)
  • Close drawing and document update requests (TRs and DRFTs) in SharePoint
  • Plot drawings
  • Support Stick filing – update hanging sticks with controlled drawings
  • Reporting – Quarterly Status reports, Process & Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) Reports
  • Support Process & Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) distribution
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Works with moderate work direction and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving.
  • Lead projects, handle confidential and sensitive data.

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Minimum 2-3 years of Document control management experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience working as an engineer OR in engineering firm or Oil & Gas industry is an asset.
  • Advance Data Entry skills.
  • Experience in submitting and close drawing and document update requests.
  • High level of communication skills – both verbal and written (English)
  • Typing skills – Intermediate to Advanced
  • Microsoft suite skill level – Intermediate to Advanced (focus on Word and Excel)
  • Ability in using PDF Writer or Bluebeam – Beginner to Intermediate
  • Experience in OpenText database and SharePoint is an asset.
  • Document management systems experience – Beginner to Advanced
