Job Description

Akkodis is looking for experienced Senior Database Administrators (DBA) to manage and optimize Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle database environments. The ideal candidates will have over 10 years of experience in database design, installation, performance tuning, and recovery, supporting complex applications and development teams in both Windows and Linux environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  • Manage database space, performance, and recovery operations.
  • Develop and maintain database structures, ETL processes, and scripts.
  • Implement and monitor backup, recovery, and failover strategies.
  • Perform database tuning, statistics updates, and reorganizations.
  • Support developers with database access, problem resolution, and change control.
  • Maintain database security and enforce access controls.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Application Owners, and IT Architects on IM/IT projects.


Qualifications

  • University degree or post-secondary diploma with 10+ years of progressive DBA experience.
  • Experience working within classified environments.
  • Formal Oracle DBA certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server installation, configuration, migration, and security.
  • Experience in ETL design and data migration within SQL Server environments.
  • Proven Oracle DBA experience (v12+), including RMAN, tuning, and recovery.
  • Skilled in PL/SQL, T-SQL, Python, and OS scripting for database operations.
  • Strong understanding of database design, optimization, and storage management.
  • Experience providing 2nd and 3rd level DBA support across Windows and Linux systems.
