<p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking a detail-oriented <strong>Design &</strong> <strong>Manufacturing Engineer</strong> with expertise in <strong>design & manufacturing high volume automotive components</strong>. The ideal candidate will leverage strong <strong>SolidWorks skills</strong> to create detailed 3D models, drawings, and tooling designs, while also optimizing stamping operations for manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design and develop automotive (Class 8 trucks) exhaust components with the combination of stamped and sheet metal parts, necessary jigs, fixtures and dies for high volume production.</li><li>Generate detailed <strong>engineering drawings and drafting packages</strong> compliant with GD&T standards.</li><li>Conduct forming and stamping simulations (e.g., AutoForm, PAM-STAMP, or similar) to validate designs and optimize processes.</li><li>Review customer part designs and provide input for manufacturability and cost reduction.</li><li>Support prototype builds, production trials, and new product launches.</li><li>Collaborate with tooling suppliers and internal teams to ensure proper design execution.</li><li>Troubleshoot production issues through root cause analysis and implement engineering countermeasures.</li><li>Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, BOMs, and process sheets.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve product quality.</li><li>Ensure compliance with automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO, OEM requirements).</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in <strong>Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline</strong>.</li><li><strong>5+ years of experience</strong> in automotive manufacturing engineering (stamping focus).</li><li>Strong <strong>design and drafting skills</strong>, including 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.</li><li>Proficiency in <strong>SolidWorks</strong> (design, assemblies, and drafting).</li><li>Hands-on experience with <strong>metal stamping processes</strong> (progressive, transfer, or tandem dies).</li><li>Experience with <strong>simulation tools</strong> for forming and stamping (AutoForm, PAM-STAMP, or equivalent).</li><li>Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFMEA/PFMEA, PPAP, and APQP.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with <strong>tooling design</strong> for high-volume automotive applications.</li><li>Familiarity with machining, welding, or robotic automation.</li><li>Exposure to lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.</li><li>Prior experience with Tier-1 automotive suppliers or OEMs.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive salary and benefits package.</li><li>Hands-on involvement with advanced stamping and design technologies.</li><li>Career growth opportunities in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.</li></ul><p></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
