DevOps Engineer

Role Summary:

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at OMEGA, you’ll be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing our infrastructure, both cloud-based and on-premises. A key focus of the role will be on monitoring, security, database administration, and event-driven technologies like Kafka, which are central to our application architecture. Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Design and maintain end-to-end monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) for high system performance and quick response to incidents.
• SQL Server Administration: Manage SQL Server environments, ensuring high availability, optimized performance, security compliance, and reliable backup/recovery strategies.
• Event-Driven Architecture Management: Set up, configure, and manage Kafka clusters for real-time data processing and event streaming across the application. Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance of the Kafka infrastructure.
• Redis Management: Oversee and optimize Redis deployments as a high-performance caching and data store layer within the application architecture.
• Cloudflare Security & Cloud Security: Implement and manage security protocols, including Cloudflare configurations (DDoS protection, WAF, rate limiting) and AWS security services for resilient, secure infrastructure.
• Networking & Cloud Management: Configure and troubleshoot network architectures, including VPNs, VPCs, and load balancing in AWS to secure connections and optimize performance.
• Automation & IaC: Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate deployments, enforce consistency, and maintain scalability.
• Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Act as the lead for incident response, working through root cause analysis to ensure continuous improvement and stability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with security, database, and DevOps teams to streamline workflows and mentor junior engineers.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: 7+ years in infrastructure engineering or a related field.
• Event-Driven Technologies: Proven expertise in setting up, managing, and troubleshooting Kafka clusters, with a strong understanding of event-driven architecture.
• Redis Experience: Hands-on experience with Redis for caching and data storage optimization.
• Monitoring Expertise: Advanced experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) for real-time performance insights and incident management.
• SQL Server Administration: Extensive knowledge of SQL Server, including performance tuning, high-availability setups, backup/recovery, and security management.
• Security Focus: Strong experience with Cloudflare and AWS security solutions, focusing on protection, compliance, and secure infrastructure.
• Network & Cloud Management: Deep understanding of networking protocols, VPC setup, VPN, DNS, and AWS resource management.
• Automation & IaC Skills: Proficient in Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for consistent and automated infrastructure provisioning.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or SQL Server Database certifications.
• Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
