About the role Eavor Technologies Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the strategic role of Director of Global People Operations. Employed by Eavor whose head office is located in Calgary, Alberta, and working with a multidisciplinary international team, you will act as a business partner and provide leadership to support the scale-up of the organization’s talent and ultimately the construction of the world’s first closed-loop geothermal systems. The successful Director, Global People Operations candidate will bring experience in successfully expanding the People Operations from a national to an international level, have experience in high growth/scale-up environments and previously played a pivotal role in evolving a team culture to foster high performance, ownership, accountability, and continuous learning. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and self-directed leader and will be committed to cultivating a culture that enables the organization to deliver innovative geothermal solutions while caring for people, communities, and the planet. This hybrid role is based in Calgary, Alberta, requiring local and international travel based on business needs. Work closely with leaders across the organization to ensure our people programs, processes, policies, and systems are aligned with our business goals and milestones. Provide guidance and support to leaders and employees on people-related issues. Create and manage a robust and right-sized internal communications strategy for a fast-growing team. Act with the employee experience at the forefront by continually seeking feedback, identifying inefficiencies, and maintaining business relationships based on trust and respect.
Manage the company’s total rewards programs, including oversight of employee stock option grants. Foster a workplace that prioritizes Eavor’s values and a sense of psychological safety. Build and lead a world-class organizational culture that can support our growth and provide meaningful opportunities for employees to contribute to both the business and their personal development. Develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives identifying opportunities for improvement and developing strategies to address issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Oversee the execution and adoption of talent management, learning and development, compensation, culture engagement, EDI, and organizational programs and initiatives. Advise the leadership team and/or work with external counsel on employee relations issues, which may include disciplinary and termination processes. Lead the development and implementation of the Talent Acquisition Strategy with a focus on recruitment and retention strategies that promote healthy workplaces and high performance. Responsible for the department budget to ensure effective use of resources.
Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and global employment laws. Act as a coach in the development and growth of the organization overseeing performance, L&D, and engagement. Advise, design and implement recruitment and total rewards programs including expat packages.
Some of what you will need: 12 years of progressive HR experience in strategic HR roles. Proven experience as a strategic HR leader in a high-growth, venture-backed technology company. Thorough understanding of organizational culture and the ability to drive cultural change. Understanding of global employment laws including Canada, USA, and other countries as required.
Understanding of the tax, legal, compensation and immigration issues associated with a global workforce. Strong understanding of talent acquisition, performance management, and total rewards strategies. Demonstrated success in building and optimizing recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent. Experience in developing and implementing performance management frameworks and initiatives.
Demonstrated experience driving DEI and ESG initiatives. Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and inspire others. Moves fast with a bias for action and effective change management experience and execution. Excellent analytical and project management skills, with the ability to manage budgets, KPIs, and results across all locations.
Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and team members. Superior communication skills with a proven track record of managing internal communications with employees. Ability to proactively analyze and resolve problems. What is Eavor Technologies Inc.
