THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced business unit leader and seasoned operator to oversee and grow our ISO Tank management business across North America. This position will work closely with internal/external stakeholders to set and execute strategies to capitalize on existing infrastructure as well as finding new areas of growth.



This position reports directly to the CRO and regularly interacts with all levels of internal management, industry associations, and key decision makers at client organizations

  • An experienced operator with experience across all several transportation modes and service lines


  • Demonstrated ability to define and implement a safety culture without sacrificing customer service or financial performance

  • Excellent communications skills; able to relate to people at all levels of an organization and at all levels of technical competence

  • Experience developing and managing large, geographically dispersed operational teams


  • Demonstrated ability to set clear, specific & challenging goals, and leading his/her organization towards achieving them

  • Recognized problem solver with ability to get to yes

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. Able to adapt to continuously changing conditions and competing priorities without getting overwhelmed




A DAY IN THE LIFE

This position ensures the safe and profitable operation of Trimac’s rapidly expanding ISO tank, warehousing, storage, and site services logistics solutions, and is responsible for the comprehensive operating, safety and financial performance of the business unit.

Specific accountabilities include:


  • Designing and implementing appropriate safety and operating policies and procedures and ensuring compliance

  • Defining and implementing frameworks to define, measure and manage facility capacity and productivity to meet expected demand and ensure compliance with customer SLA’s

  • Implementing network-wide operating systems and technology platform(s) to ensure efficient operations and effective integration with customers and internal business units


  • Establishing & achieving annual safety, service, volume, revenue and profit budgets/forecasts for the business unit overall and individual facilities

  • Negotiating service level agreements with customers and ensuring compliance

  • Extensive collaboration with the Business Development and Truckline Sales team to identify and develop of market studies and proposed investment in repurposed “brownfield” sites, and new build “greenfield sites”


  • Attending industry events to expand and enhance business networks, generate opportunities and increase the profile of the company’s brands and services

  • Maintaining knowledge of industry and competitive landscapes to identify, prioritize and execute on best practices and market opportunities

  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of operations staff, drivers, and support personnel. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, andcontinuous improvement. Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to maximize employee engagement and productivity



  • Drive initiatives for operational excellence, process optimization, and innovation. Proactively identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.



REQUIREMENTS

  • Business Degree (Master’s Degree or professional designation preferred)


  • 10+ years progressive leadership or management experience in transportation operations or other multi-location, heavy industry, safety sensitive environment

  • Previous experience in heavy machinery, railway, warehouse or distribution center environments strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of ISO tank transportation regulations, industry best practices and safety standards.


  • Proven track record of strategic planning, financial management and business development.

  • Ensure achievement of safety, customer service, operational and financial results for all facilities under management


  • Conduct a needs and capabilities assessment of the business unit’s existing operating, management, and financial platforms. Make recommendations for improvement.

  • Develop a capacity management framework to maximize utilization and returns for existing facilities and identify market opportunities to partner, acquire competitors or develop new “greenfield” sites

  • Conduct a market assessment regarding opportunities to expand the ISO container storage markets and, if warranted, develop a business case to secure expansion capital


  • Collaborate with leadership and HR teams to identify workforce needs and align talent acquisition strategies with business objectives
