Director of Accounts & Project Management

War Room is looking for an experienced Director of Accounts and Projects to join our growing team! You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and strategy of the Accounts and Project Management teams. This role involves developing and growing the team while taking the lead on our key accounts. Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives in quickly scaling companies that require building and developing key processes and practices.

This role reports directly to the CRO and works closely with our Performance team (Campaigns & Optimization).

Please note that this is a hybrid role that requires 3 days a week in the office with the first 3 months of onboarding 100% in the office. We are located at 210 W Broadway, Vancouver.



What You’ll Be Doing

  • Client Relations for Key Accounts: Lead key negotiations, strategic deals, and relationship-building activities for our largest accounts.
  • Sales: Identify opportunities to upsell key accounts with the highest revenue potential and coach your team on sales and account management tactics to achieve growth goals.
  • Performance Review for Key Accounts: Evaluate campaign results, provide insights, and suggest and implement improvements for owned and supervised accounts.
  • Team Leadership: Ensure your team is meeting and hitting the set goals. Establish and monitor clear performance metrics and conduct regular performance evaluations for the Accounts and Project Management teams.
  • Strategy, Process, and Planning: Develop and implement account management strategies aligned with War Room’s goals and objectives and partner with senior project managers to evolve project management approaches to deliver work on time and within budget. Build, optimize, and maintain key operational processes to enable us to scale effectively and implement strategic plans for actualizing revenue targets.
  • Reporting and Forecasting: You will provide regular revenue reports and forecasts to the leadership team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities. You’ll establish monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets to act as a guideline that enables measurement of individual and group performance.
  • Coaching: Champion a team culture of continuous improvement and learning; drive the career development of your teams.

Skills + Experience

  • 8+ years of experience managing customer accounts in an agency environment
  • 5+ years of experience in people management in the account management space
  • Proven success managing high-performing account management teams, excelling in client retention, satisfaction, and upsells.
  • Understanding of key project management principles
  • Comfortable managing multi-million dollar client campaign budgets
  • Experience creating and implementing scalable account management cadences and customer success processes
  • Expert understanding of the digital advertising landscape
  • An analytical thinker who knows how to turn metrics into decisions and present data in a meaningful and impactful way
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written skills, with a proven ability to develop well-written documents and engaging presentations
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, advertising, business, communications, public relations, or equivalent experience

Bonus Points

  • Professional project management training or certification – PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP
  • Experience in programmatic advertising
