The Francis Winspear Centre for Music is seeking a dynamic individual for a Director of Finance role. We are looking for an employee that is excited to be part of our music-centered, community-driven organization for this full-time position. We welcome 250,000 people annually to participate in musical performances and rehearsals, literary events, meetings, receptions, graduation ceremonies, and educational programs. We are currently working to complete the Winspear Project – a significant building expansion that is currently underway and will include a new 550-seat performance venue, dedicated teaching spaces, and flexible community areas and will help us achieve our goal of reaching 500,000 active participants by 2032. We aim to celebrate the opening of this exciting new addition to Edmonton’s Arts District in 2025. We operate up to 365 days of the year and outside what would be deemed regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare annual operating and capital budgets and forecasts, and monitor financial health and performance Provide accurate annual, quarterly, monthly and ‘ad hoc’ financial information and reports in accordance with accepted accounting standards Conduct financial analysis of internal activities to assist management by providing insight into decision making Coordinate meetings with management to review financial performance against budget or forecasts Monitor and report on investment performance Complete reports for government agencies, and funders Oversee employee compensation and benefits Oversee vendor management and relationships, including facility vendors Engage with auditors and ensure all information is prepared and available Participate and lead committees including with Board members, and team members Supervise and inspire staff to meet their job expectations and professional development If you would like to apply, please submit your cover letter and resume to apply and email hiringwinspearcentre. com.

Qualifications: Undergraduate Degree specializing in Finance CPA designation is required Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior financial management preferably in a nonprofit organization Knowledge of best practices for financial processes and policies; familiar with not-for-profit accounting guidelines Understanding of employee-related legislation and best practices Exceptional organizational and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Competencies: Detail-oriented Analytical Problem solver Strategic Entrepreneurial spirit Inspirational Collaborative Team Builder Adaptable Open to new ideas
