We seek a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our Western Pacific Transport Ltd team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in dispatching, logistics, or a related field, with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. As a Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods by coordinating drivers, routes, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
– Schedule and assign drivers to routes based on delivery priorities, driver availability, and customer requirements.
– Communicate effectively with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and support throughout their shifts.
– Monitor driver progress and adjust routes to accommodate traffic, weather, or other delays.
– Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver logs, delivery times, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
– Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to deliveries or driver performance.
– Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
– Collaborate with the operations team to optimize dispatch processes and improve efficiency.
– Be available to work weekends and provide on-call support as needed.
Requirements:
– Minimum of 2 years of experience as a dispatcher in the trucking or logistics industry.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with drivers, customers, and team members.
– Proficiency in using dispatch software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
– Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
– Ability to work weekends and adapt to a flexible schedule.
– High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or dispatching are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience in long-haul or regional trucking operations.
– Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and fleet management systems.
– Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
