Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta, serving the educational needs of approximately 17,750 students in 42 schools. EIPS is recruiting two full-time Division 2 Teachers at Fort Saskatchewan Elementary. Fort Saskatchewan Elementary serves approximately 310 students in kindergarten to grade 6, with 17 teaching staff and 10 support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park, AB.

Commencing August 27, 2024 Teaching assignments are Grade 5 (tentatively a Grade 5/6), and Grade 6 Open to internal and external applicants, priority will be given to EIPS teachers who hold a continuous contract Qualifications: Bachelor of Education degree Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate Knowledge and training of the Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment Kits and their meaningful implementation in the classroom, used to guide instruction Effective organization and classroom management skills Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged Excellent verbal and written skills Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction Strong collaboration and teamwork skills Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training For more information, please contact Shelby Labrecque, Principal, at 780-998-7771 or email shelby.labrecque@eips.ca.
