We are seeking a skilled ETL Tester with substantial hands-on experience in advanced SQL and Python. This role is open to candidates with either a Quality Assurance (QA) or Developer background, provided you can demonstrate core expertise in complex SQL operations on ETL platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive ETL test cases and scenarios
- Write and optimize advanced SQL queries for data validation, transformation, and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with development teams to understand business and data transformation requirements
- Validate large volumes of data across multiple sources and targets using advanced SQL
- Develop automation scripts in Python for ETL testing and process streamlining
- Analyze, report, and track defects; recommend solutions
- Participate in Agile/Scrum processes and provide expertise throughout the test life cycle
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in ETL testing or related roles
- Strong command of advanced SQL (complex joins, window functions, query optimization, data analysis)
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS) is a plus
- QA professionals or Data/ETL developers with hardcore SQL expertise are welcome
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and validate large datasets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Must have:
- 7+ years of Testing experience
- Good background in ETL Testing
- Good background in SQL / Db testing
- Experienced with AWS services required are S3, Glue, Cloudwatch, Airflow and Athena
Mode: Hybrid (2–3 days/week in office, Downtown Toronto; rest WFH
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
