Excavator Operator


Job Description SAFETY. TEAMWORK. INTEGRITY. n BURNCO is currently looking for an Excavator Operator within the Calgary region for the production operations of our Southern Alberta Aggregate Division.

This is a full-time, seasonal position. Applicants must have their own transportation with the ability to work at various gravel pit locations outside the city limits. You should also have the ability to safely work with and around heavy equipment, as well as the physical capacity to perform manual labour for extended periods.

Flexibility to work overtime and shift work is also required. n We offer great benefits and more: n n Competitive wages. n Comprehensive Health Benefits. n High Quality Individuals and Teams Strong Safety Culture. n Enjoy the Benefits of Working with A Reputable, Stable and Growing Company. n Be part of the Team Building Legacy Infrastructure (You can say I built that) n n What You Will Be Doing n n Excavating pit run or overburden materials. n Loading material into crushing plant, gravel trucks, or rock trucks. n Breaking materials with excavator. n Running excavator attached dredge pump. n General maintenance of excavator or crushing plant n Following all safety rules and procedures. n Assisting other operations and any other duties as assigned. n Following and promoting BURNCO’s safety program. n n What We Would Like from You n n Class 5 Drivers License and clean Drivers abstract. n Experience operating an excavator. n Knowledge of operating a breaker on an excavator. n Good communication skills. n Highly motivated and able to work independently. n Able to identify, analyze and solve problems. n Mechanically inclined. n Record of working safely on various sites and around heavy equipment. n Flexible to work overtime as well as shift work is required. n Capable of performing manual physical labour in conditions that may include varying weather and temperature, as well as heavy lifting at times (over 23 kg to 50 lbs). n n n n IMPORTANT: As a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that selected candidate successfully pass comprehensive pre-employment testing that includes a Drug and Alcohol screen and Fitness to Work testing. The starting wage is as per the CBA and will increase based on experience. n
