Role Description


TCCS is searching for an Executive Director for a full-time, on-site role located in Calgary, AB. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, developing and implementing policies, managing staff and volunteers, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders. They will also be responsible for financial management, strategic planning, program development, and fundraising. The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Directors, reporting directly to the Board President.

This is a fulsome role and we are looking for an experienced individual to take on the challenge of bringing their ideas and strategy to the organization and leading the staff through this transition.

Responsibilities:


  • Policy Management

·        Board and Board Committee Support/Board Governance

–         Arranges all regular Board meetings as well as the Annual General Meeting


–         Maintains accurate records of all Board-related documents

–         Staff Implementation of Board policy.

  • Strategic Planning

–         Goals, Vision, and Mission statements

–         Program and service goals

·        Visioning


–         Development of programs/services that fulfill our mission

  • Leadership

–         Supports and directs staff


–         Ensures appropriate staff metrics are maintained

–         Performance management

·        Program Management


·        Personal management

–         Ensures compliance to legislation in all aspects of the employee cycle

·        Financial Management


–         Prepares budget for Board approval

–         Oversees the accounting functions (contract accountant)

–         Complies with audit requirements


–         Financial reporting to the Board

  • Risk Analysis

  •  Advocacy Management

–         Promotes community awareness

–         Builds and encourages strong relationship with inter/intra agencies

–         Meets and manages the relationship with external stakeholders

Education

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, or related field


Qualifications

  • Experience in the childcare sector
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in the childcare sector
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Financial management and budgeting skills
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Experience in educational program development and evaluation
  • Fundraising and grant writing experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and stakeholders
  • Experience in a leadership role

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

The successful Candidate will be a working leader of the day-to-day operations who actively mentors and coaches the TCCS team. A strategist in operational functions and working actively with managers and directors throughout the Society.
