Your Opportun

    Serving as connector and coach, the Consultant shall work, alongside Edmonton Unlimited’s Head of Startup and PSI Specialist, within a team of executives in residence (EIRs) and relevant innovation service providers/partners in Edmonton and elsewhere (as applicable). The Consultant will advise and support students and staff who are potential innovators and founders building technology-based businesses at the following Edmonton post-secondary institutions: NAIT, Concordia University of Edmonton, NorQuest College Edmonton Campus, University of Alberta, MacEwan University, The King’s University, Athabasca and Yellowhead Tribal College (the “Post-Secondari
  • es”)The EIR will be dispatched to the post-secondaries based on demand for their specific expertise through office hours and bespoke support to serve the needs of the post-secondary innovators and founders. The objective of the EIR will be to educate founders, identify research and business ideas with potential for growth and/or support companies growing out of the post-secondary institut

    Serves as a point of contact for innovative students (undergraduate and graduate), research associates, faculty members and staff at one or more post-secondaries in the Edmonto
  • n area.Works with the other EIRs to serve all the post-secondaries in Edmonton Unlimited’s Post-Secondary programs by attending weekly meetings to assess the opportunities encountered and provide guidance to companies as a collective based on skill sets that are on th
  • e team.Provides mentorship and/or advice on transforming technology-based research and ideas with business potential into viable products and services, with emphasis on those business opportunities that have the greatest potential for technology-enablement, scale up, and commercialization. This may i

nclude:o Referrals to organizations that will suit the needs of the technology, innovation and/or inn



ovator.o Articulating/communicating/deciphering the ‘product-market fit’ of new goods and se


rvices.o Provision of mentorship and advice regarding commercialization pathways, developing business goals and monitoring perfo
