Position Overview:

As the Farmers Market Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the market, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for both vendors and customers. This role combines remote work with on-site management every Tuesday.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage market logistics, including vendor coordination and site setup/teardown.

Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, board and the market team.

Utilize Google Workspace for administrative tasks and record-keeping.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Train and support staff and volunteers.

Handle any on-site issues or emergencies during market days.

Administer the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) Nutrition Coupon Program.

Facilitate community engagement through social media, events, and communication.

Lead vendor recruitment and retention.

Build market customer base.

Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Excellent communication skills.

Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.).

Willingness to learn and manage various market logistics.

Willingness to learn MarketWurks.

Knowledge of Square and Quickbooks an asset.

Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.

Food safe and First aid certification (market can support certification for successful applicant).
