Finance Manager
Our client is searching for a Finance Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for supporting financial activities related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. A successful candidate will have a high sense of confidentiality as well as advanced knowledge in the areas of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
This role reports directly to the Director of Finance.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
Develop, update, and adhere to accounting standards, policies, and procedures Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, produce financial statements on a monthly basis, and perform period end closing duties Perform day to day financial activities for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll as needed Prepare written reports, briefing notes, presentations, and recommendations for the Director of Finance and Executive leadership Collaborate with various departments to forecast budgets and project work plans in cooperation with the Director of Finance and the Financial Controller Maintain financial integrity of departments and affiliates by providing the Director of Finance, leadership, and funders with required financial statements and reports Meet with the Senior Executive Officer, Directors and Citizens’ Representatives to finalize details of financial reports at year end. Write corresponding journal entries Ensure the books of all entities are prepared for auditors Coordinate with and assist auditors, including providing supporting documents, answering general inquiries, and helping with specific concerns Mentor team members through feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations, and provide effective leadership to the team Perform supervisory duties including recruiting and training staff, assigning job duties, and developing and overseeing staff workplans Develop and maintain collaborative relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders including service providers, internal departments, affiliates, and community partners Maintain a high level of political awareness, cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders, and in the handling of all documents and information Other duties are required or assigned Your strengths include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field CPA Designation with experience in full cycle accounting 2+ years of experience in a financial role 2+ years of experience in a leadership role Proficient with SAGE 300, Microsoft Office Suites and Google Workspace Strong knowledge of applicable Finance and Accounting regulations, legislation, and best practices Working knowledge of financial forecasting and budgeting, financial accountability and control processes, auditing procedures, financial data storage and financial report analysis
