The Successful Candidate: Are you an experienced financial professional well-versed in financial operations and executing corporate strategy?. We’re looking for a self-driven and ambitious Financial Controller to join our Finance team at DIRTT’s Calgary HQ. You’ll become part of a passionate team that continues to disrupt the construction world with a faster, more sustainable and all-around better way to build.
What You’ll Do: Working with the management team as a trusted business advisor to develop and execute corporate strategy and business plans to ensure DIRTT attains our short and long-term growth objectives. Management of all financial operations (financial planning, accounting, cash management, investments, audit and fiscal functions) and corporate finance (FP&A, corporate finance, strategic planning) activities. Manages the execution and delivery of all internal and external reporting Manages the annual budgeting and monthly forecast process. Monitors and analyzes monthly and year-to-date operating results against forecast/budget and prior periods Providing strategic oversight to the deployment of capital, driving optimal return on investments to drive growth Accountable for all internal and external reporting.
Monitoring and analyzing monthly and year-to-date operating results against forecast/budget and prior periods. Developing and reporting on KPIs relevant to managing the company monthly. Responsible for the implementation and management of internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes and procedures (SOX 404 and CSOX) Implementation and management of internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes and procedures Provides advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis and reporting Ensuring the accurate and appropriate accounting treatment of complex accounting transactions. Supporting the CFO in managing the company’s risk through risk assessments, insurance Ensure compliance with state/provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including GST, Canadian and US tax reporting Audit support including year-end audits, ESG reporting, GSA reporting and audits, CRA audits, IRS audits and GST audits Mentorship, deadline management, team building and training of staff members (10 to 20) What You’ll Bring: Minimum of ten years related work experience; this may include public practice accounting, or industry financial reporting roles CPA or CA designation is required Recent knowledge of SOX 404 audits, especially ITGC and Information Processing Objectives Strong knowledge of US GAAP Financial analysis, budgeting and strategic planning experience Ability to recognize and communicate efficiency opportunities and implement new processes Advanced analytical, interpersonal, communication and attention to detail skills Strong understanding of IT systems and proficient with all Microsoft products Excellent understanding of financial management, accounting principles and internal controls What’s In It For You: A competitive base salary plus variable pay (bonus) programs An on-site cafeteria at DIRTT headquarters with coffee, soft drinks, continental breakfast, hot lunches, snacks, and more Eligibility to participate in DIRTT’s Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) Fulsome employer-paid health benefits including health, dental, and vision coverage Short-term and long-term disability coverage plus life, critical illness, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance Mental health resources including an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) DIRTT headquarters are located in Calgary, Alberta.
