Forklift Mechanic
Position Overview
This is a newly created role for an experienced Forklift Mechanic to support operations across multiple sites. The successful candidate will work independently, managing preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for a fleet of forklifts, primarily Linde equipment. This role requires strong technical capability, accountability, and a long-term mindset.
You will be provided with a dedicated service van and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Compensation:
- $30-$35 per hour

- Vacation: 3 weeks vacation (prorated)

- Tool allowance: $350 per year
- Safety boot allowance: $200 per year
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing of forklifts across assigned locations
- Diagnose and complete emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime
- Maintain forklifts powered by propane and electric systems
- Manage site-specific PM schedules and ensure compliance with maintenance standards
- Document work completed, parts used, and equipment condition accurately
- Communicate effectively with operations and maintenance leadership regarding equipment status
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on forklift mechanic experience (non-negotiable)
- Direct experience working on Linde forklifts strongly preferred
- Proven experience servicing both propane and electric forklifts
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites without close supervision
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and mechanical repair skills
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and ownership of work
