Creative Door Services, North America’s largest overhead door dealer, operates nine branches across Western Canada and we have over 55 years of experience in the residential and commercial overhead door industry. We provide access solutions by servicing and installing a variety of overhead doors and driveway gate systems, operators and associated controls.



Role:
We have an immediate opening for a Commercial Garage Door Installer Helper located in the Edmonton branch. Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, the helper will work as part of a two-person crew, this position will assist in the service and/or installation of overhead doors while learning on the job from the Lead Technician.

This role is a permanent, full time position with opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities:
– Maintain a professional demeanor
– Focus on quality workmanship
– Championing safety standards
– Providing superior customer service
– Working with hand tools, electric tools and ladders
– Regular interaction with warehouse staff, construction Project Managers, customers other trades and safety personnel
– Taking direction from the Lead Technician and providing support
– Actively participating in learning the trade
– General warehouse duties
– Other duties, as assigned

Skills:
– Possessing resourcefulness, integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a team environment
– Comfortable with heights (ladders & lifts)
– Above average mechanical aptitude
– Knowledge of overhead doors, sectional, rolling steel, high speed or specialty doors would be considered an asset
– Intention to learn the trade and progress to a Lead Technician



Qualifications:
– Minimum 3 – 6 months’ experience in a relevant trade (i.e. construction, welding, millwright etc.)
– Resourcefulness, integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a team environment
– Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
– Any relevant safety training and tickets is an asset. (WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid, etc.)
– Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
– Must be able to work outside in all different weather conditions, including cold and extreme heat. Lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, sitting, lying down, squatting and kneeling and managing equipment and tools required
– Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements including drug, alcohol and health assessment
