General Manager

Harbinger Network Inc. has partnered with a Top 40 ICI General Contractor to find a General Manager for their Edmonton, Alberta branch. This National General Contractor has been in business for over 30 years and is widely recognized as a quality builder for both the private and public sectors . This opportunity is part of a succession plan as the incumbent will be introduced to an existing portfolio of ICI clients, staff and significant resources to make it their own .

Individual project size can be as large as 50M in value utilizing various delivery models such as Design Build, Construction Management, Integrated Project Delivery and Stipulated Sum. This position has influence on the overall strategic direction of the company having Business Development, Estimating and Project Management report into this position. This position is also part of the strategic decision making process at a Provincial and National level. Responsibilities: Plan and ensure proper execution of projects in accordance with Corporate Policy Establish objectives that define key result areas of the region and communicate to staff Develop and maintain professional relationships with major customers and prospects and to focus business development efforts of the division towards areas of greatest opportunity Provide overall leadership where employees know what is expected and how they can contribute Oversee contractual agreements with consultants and clients Represent our company on matters such as business services Meet and set budget requirements relating to cash flow, WIP, and net assets Manage the implementation of Company and legislated Health, Safety, and Environmental Programs Encourage participation by key employees in the annual planning process resulting in an acceptable business plan that blends with objectives that define the key result areas of each operation Ensure annual marketing and business plans are in place for each operation, implemented, and reviewed monthly Ensure adequate controls are in place, implemented and reviewed for due diligence: estimating, tendering, purchasing, subcontracting and accounting Provide encouragement, support and objectives Implement continuous improvement initiatives Produce weekly reports on labour productivity and man hours Profit and loss accountability Required Experience: Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizing skills with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors and employees at all levels of the organization Ability to read and comprehend applicable financial statements Available to travel as needed Contact Harbinger Network: Harbinger Network Inc.
