Artemis Home and Garden

Are you an industrious and earthy human looking for a summer job??: Please read entire post and respond VIA EMAIL with an intro message and an attached resume. Thankyou!

Full/Part Time Gardening Employees Wanted:
What: Artemis Home and Garden is looking for steadfast, detail-oriented gardeners for the 2025 season! While someone that already has some experience with commercial gardening, landscaping, or tree work on some level is preferred, we are accepting applications from all hardworking folk who thrive being out in the elements, have a detailed eye for beauty, enjoy working up a sweat, getting a tan, and getting paid! There is two full time positions available (30- 35 hours/ week), and one more flexible part time position (16-25 hrs/week) from end of April 2025 to end of October 2025 weather permitting. If you are a student, the flexible part time position may be for you!!

I have found this job to be rewarding and low stress, but it is labour intensive and can be uncomfortable at times. You will be often dealing with hot sun, and sometimes mosquitoes, rain and cold at the beginning and end of the season. The work will involve weeding and debris removal at the beginning but if things go well, more tasks/skills will be added. These include, pruning bushes and shrubs, deadheading, transplanting and more. This is a terrific opportunity to stay fit, learn a ton about plants and work all summer outdoors!!

Please note: This job requires you to be relatively fit and healthy. If you have back issues past or present, this job is not for you. Although I will be training you with safety and ergonomics as a top priority, please prepare properly for this job BEFORE hand and during (i.e. exercising and stretching to prevent injury and generally taking care of yourself).

When: It would be about 3- 5 days a week depending on how it is scheduled. Again, it will be from about mid April to the end of October 2024
How much: The wage will vary depending on experience and performance and is negotiable! You will start out at $20.00 per hour during training, with lots of opportunity to make more with improvement of skills and efficiency. We will reassess as needed

Requirements: – A reliable vehicle is mandatory as you will be commuting to each site every day.
– A strong work ethic, and attention to detail are key to this job. Its important to be methodical, and thorough as well as timely and efficient. There is a big and exciting learning curve unless you have done this kind of gardening before. Experience is preferred but so are eager learners that welcome feedback. With time you will be a plant ID extraordinaire!
– It is important that you are fit, and healthy as repetitive motions and tasks can be taxing on the body if not done the right way.
– Being grounded in Edmonton for the summer is a must. Please let me know well in advance about vacations and time off. Mother earth waits for no one.

Application: Please send me an email telling me about yourself, and your interest with a resume attached to: katie.ingram111@gmail.com
I will not respond to any applications not sent through email with a resume attached.
If you hear back from me, we can set up an initial interview and then a second interview may be required.

Thanks for considering and look forward to hearing from you!
