Darkhorse is on the lookout for a dynamic, motivated HR Generalist to join our team. This position is full time, and based in Edmonton. What we do Darkhorse Analytics is an Alberta-based consultancy specializing in data visualization.

We’ve conducted custom visualization work for NGOs such as Opportunity Insights, Environmental Defense Fund, USAFacts.org, and Wayne State University, alongside iconic brands like Procter & Gamble. Additionally, we cater to a unique segment of fire and emergency clients through our sister company, Darkhorse Emergency. Our partnership approach helps our clients achieve their ambitious goals—goals that often leave a lasting positive mark on society.

What you will do You’ll be the glue that holds our people processes together, ensuring our team thrives. Here’s a snapshot of your day-to-day: Recruitment and Onboarding : Own the recruitment cycle from job postings to hiring, as well as the new hire orientation and onboarding process, making sure every new team member feels welcome and ready to hit the ground running. Employee Relations : Be the go-to person for employee inquiries.

Provide guidance on HR policies and resolve conflicts fairly and swiftly. Performance Management : Help develop and implement performance management systems. Support managers in conducting reviews and giving feedback that helps our team grow.

Compliance and Risk Mitigation : Keep us on the right side of federal, provincial, and local employment laws. Maintain accurate employee records and handle confidential information with discretion. HR Administration : Keep our HR databases in tip-top shape and generate reports as needed.

Assist with benefits administration and payroll processing. Employee Health Benefits : Manage our health benefits programs, liaising with our providers. Educate employees about their benefits and help with enrollment and claims.

HR Software Management : Set up and manage HR software applications. Ensure our data is accurate and our processes are streamlined. Collaboration with Finance : Work closely with the Finance department to ensure payroll and benefits are processed accurately and on time.

Foster strong cooperation to support our organizational goals. Process Improvement : Continuously refine our recruitment and onboarding processes. Take our systems to the next level to support our growth.

Compensation Management : Assist with various projects, and monitor salary bands to ensure competitive and fair compensation practices. What we look for Here’s what will make you stand out: Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

HR Experience : At least 3 years in an HR Generalist role or similar, with a solid grasp of HR practices and employment laws. Communication Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You can connect with people at all levels.

Integrity : Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. Organizational Skills : Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. You keep things running smoothly.

Team Player : Ability to work independently and as part of a team. You’re collaborative and supportive. HR Certification : HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-CP) is a plus.

High-Growth Environment Experience : Experience in a high-growth company or tech environment is a major asset.
