Our client is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join their team in Edmonton, Alberta. This position, will lead the HR department and oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. The role is crucial in maintaining a strong company culture, ensuring employee engagement, and aligning our client’s HR strategies with their business goals.The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and mentorship skills, the ability to scale a team or business, and experience in developing compensation, total rewards, and benefits programs.
The candidate will have exceptional active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills. Responsibilities: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
Manage the recruitment and selection process for both field and office staff to ensure our company attracts, hires, and retains the best employees. Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital. Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization. Nurture a positive working environment and culture. Maintain pay plan and benefits program.
Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs. Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management. Qualifications: Must have 5 years of management experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive.
Degree in Human Resources or related field; HR certification is a plus. Proven ability to help scale a team/business, and experience with developing compensation, total rewards, and benefits. The ability to be a strong leadership and mentor to your team.
People-oriented and results-driven. Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics. Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills. Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills. Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices. ADP software experience would also be an asset.
